Who We Are
The Heartbeat of Community Change
About us
Our Foundation
The word Igati (Kimeru for raw salt) reflects our spiritual identity, to preserve, add value, and shine as the salt and light of the world (Matthew 5:13–19). From this divine calling, we built a movement where faith, research, innovation, and enterprise converge to transform communities.

The Goal
Our Mission
A transformed society where faith, innovation, and enterprise end poverty, create jobs, secure food, and sustain the environment.
The Outlook
Our Vision
Empowering communities through social entrepreneurship and innovation — shining the light of Christ in every livelihood.
Our Community Values
We believe in:
- Faith in Action – grounded in Christ’s teaching.
- Ubuntu Spirit – “I am because we are.”
- Integrity & Stewardship – transparency in partnerships.
- Innovation with Purpose – solving real community challenges.
- Sustainability & Equity – leaving no one behind.
Governance & Leadership
The Igati Mission Ecosystem balances bottom-up ownership with professional leadership for accountability and scale:
- Grassroots Cells – families, cooperatives, CBOs.
- Subcounty Associations – training and advocacy hubs.
- County Chapters – aligning with county priorities.
- National Governing Council – policy and partnerships.
- Board of Management – strategic leadership under Igati NGO.
The Igati Mission Ecosystem Pyramid

Grassroots Cells
At the foundation are Self-Help Groups, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and Cooperative Societies. These cells are the drivers of social and economic transformation, implementing projects and enterprises that directly impact livelihoods.
Sub-County Associations
Grassroots cells federate at the sub-county level to form Igati Mission Sub-County Associations, registered under the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA). These associations coordinate collective action, knowledge sharing, and local development.
County Chapters
Leaders from all sub-county associations converge at county level to form Igati Mission County Chapters. Each county chapter acts as an umbrella body, representing the aspirations of members across the county.
National Governing Council
Delegates from county chapters form the Igati National Governing Council. This council sets the national vision, ensures alignment of county efforts, and represents all members at the highest level.
The Igati Board
Appointed by the National Governing Council, the Igati Creative & Innovators NGO Board provides strategic leadership and oversight. Guided by the principles of social entrepreneurship, the Board ensures accountability, transparency, and innovation.
Igati Mission Spiritual Charter
Our Core Identity
Igati Mission is more than an NGO, it is a Kingdom movement. We exist first for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31) and second to uplift communities through faith, stewardship, social entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Our Mandate from God’s Word
- Stewardship – “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it” (Genesis 1:28).
- Light & Salt – “You are the light of the world… You are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13–16).
- Justice & Compassion – “Loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke” (Isaiah 58:6).
- Kingdom Economy – Like Joseph in Egypt (Genesis 41), we are called to build storehouses of resilience.
Our Spiritual Disposition
We commit to:
- Prayer First – seeking God’s will in every plan, meeting, and launch.
- Integrity – stewarding resources with honesty, accountability, and transparency.
- Servant Leadership – leading by serving, following Christ’s example (Mark 10:45).
- Unity in Ubuntu – walking in love, humility, and collective responsibility.
- Innovation as Worship – using creativity as a reflection of God’s image in us.
Our Programs as Ministry
- Beehives & Environment – caring for creation, creating sustainable livelihoods, and teaching stewardship.
- Youth & Women Empowerment – raising Daniels, Josephs, and Esthers, wise and courageous leaders.
- Ubuntu Music Academy – nurturing psalmists and creatives to shape culture with light.
- Cooperatives & Enterprises – building Kingdom-driven enterprises that bless entire communities.
Our Covenant of First Fruits
We dedicate a portion of all Igati Mission income and impact to:
- Thanksgiving to God.
- Community welfare for widows and orphans.
- Kingdom causes including missions, education, and mercy works.
Our Change of Story Commitment
Through God’s grace, Igati Mission exists to transform lives:
- From poverty to dignity.
- From dependence to empowerment.
- From hopelessness to testimony.
- From local story to Kingdom witness.
